In Ontario, audiologists may practice after completing the required master’s degree and meeting registration requirements. Genia Kanne-Shmigol, Doctor of Audiology, audiologist, went further by earning a Post-Professional Doctorate in Audiology, placing her among a very small percentage of hearing care professionals with advanced level of education with a focus on hearing rehabilitation, pediatric audiology, and tinnitus assessment and management.

Since 2013, Genia Kanne-Shmigol Au.D(C), Doctor of Audiology, audiologist has helped thousands of adults hear better, manage tinnitus, reconnect with loved ones, and improve their quality of life through personalized hearing care, audiological assessments, and hearing aid services.

She continues to advance her expertise through continuing education with Harvard and other leading educational institutions, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based, up-to-date audiological care.

As part of her commitment to professional development, Genia regularly participates in training programs and is a regulated member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She also holds certifications from Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) and the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA). Additionally, she is certified in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) and Cerumen (earwax) Management, adhering to best practices and the CASLPO code of ethics.

With over 14 years of experience, Genia Kanne-Shmigol, Doctor of Audiology, works closely with physicians, is trusted by referring healthcare providers, and cares for patients from Ottawa, surrounding cities and Ontario. She is also the developer of a tinnitus course, an educator, and the founder of the Gift of Hearing Program, reflecting her dedication to both exceptional care and giving back to the community.

Outside of work, Genia enjoys learning, creating, spending time in nature, being around animals, practicing yoga, hiking, cooking healthy meals, and enjoying quality time with her husband, two children, family, and friends.
